What a year it’s been for London ACORN! The organizing we’ve done this year has led to some amazing growth and wins that will improve the lives of low income tenants in London for years to come.
Some exciting highlights to celebrate from 2024 include:
- Organizing countless delegates to speak at public participation and committee council meetings to fight for tenant protection bylaws
- Holding a massive town hall to launch London ACORN’s municipal platform
- Securing volunteer legal supports for Webster tenants’ renoviction hearings
- Winning an anti-renoviction bylaw in London – the second of it’s kind in Ontario!
- Launching a SECOND official ACORN chapter just over a year after our first!
To add a cherry on top of all this, we’ve grown so much this year that we’ve been able to open a physical office for our members to hold meetings and plan more actions to FIGHT BACK. To show off our new office location and celebrate a year’s worth of BIG wins, we’re throwing a Gala dinner – and you’re invited to celebrate YOUR accomplishments with your fellow members!
In the theme of protecting more homes in 2025, we’re calling it London ACORN’s “(Save Our) Homes for the Holidays Gala!”
