Craigwood Information Picket (OPSEU/SEFPO Local 166)

Workers are being ignored for Bill 124 compensation cap remedies, with no sign of improvements in regards to fair wages and standards. Things continue to get worse and this is not sustainable. We have seen our agency deteriorate for years and the union leadership’s request to meet with Craigwood’s Board of Directors has been ignored.

We have returned to relying on for-profit temp agency staffing that costs twice as much as our relief wage.  This is especially disrespectful that the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) allows this when its direct-operated compensation is twice that of Craigwood’s full-time compensation, 3 times that of its relief.

Same Ministry, same youth: different standards.  This is not sustainable; the end is near.
