Save the date for our Black History Month Family Celebration, taking place this year at Byron Branch Library on Saturday, February 10 from 10am to 1pm.

We always look forward to this fun family event that includes music, storytelling, singing, dancing, games, crafts, Black History trivia, a scavenger hunt and prize giveaways! In partnership with London Black History Coordinating Committee.

February 22, 7 – 8:30 pm

Zahra McDoom (Public Historian) begins to tell the story of the 1923 London-based Elite Black Women’s Baseball Team.  Joining the talk will be Barry Howson (Basketball Olympian) and Gerry Anderson (former London Majors player) whose family members are pictured in the Elite photo.  The Dawn of Tomorrow, a local black produced newspaper, will help narrate the story.
