- The federal government plans to cut up to 40,000 public sector jobs.
- The federal government launched a review of the Canada Labour Code in April 2026, and workers are worried it could weaken bargaining power and make it harder to fight for a fair deal.

- Corporate profits have hit a new record high at $210 billion in the first three months of 2026. That is billions of dollars in extra profit that the government is letting them keep.
