London ACORN: Join us Monday to fight for STRONG renoviction protections!

11:30 AM - 1:00 PM
London City Hall 300 Dufferin Avenue London, ON N6B 1Z2

The following is from London ACORN:

London ACORN members are fighting for strong, effective protections from renovictions and we’re making amazing progress!

In July, London City Council voted in favor of a motion directing city staff to research the possibility of strengthening the draft renoviction bylaw by requiring landlords provide tenants with temporary accommodation or a rental top up while renovations are taking place.

City staff will be reporting back on this research soon – very likely at the next committee meeting happening on Monday September 9th.

So London ACORN members are planning an action on Monday at 11:30AM to show city council we need a STRONG bylaw to stop renovictions in London!

WHAT: Renoviction Protections Protest at City Hall!
WHEN: Monday September 9th at 11:30AM
WHERE: In front of London City Hall (300 Dufferin Ave)

We’ll be meeting in front of City Hall at 11:30AM on Monday where members will go over why the rental top up/accomodation piece of the bylaw is VITAL to stopping renovictions in London and why we need the bylaw passed ASAP to protect tenants NOW!

Following the action, we’ll make our way inside City Council Chambers to attend the CPSC Meeting happening at 1PM.

Want to help more in the fight against renovictions? Keep an eye out for a future email from ACORN on how to speak at the CPSC meeting in support of the bylaw!
