This September 30th (Orange Shirt Day) event is supported by the London and District Labour Council.

This day will commence a Sunrise Ceremony at Mount Elgin – Chippewa of the Thames Residential School Memorial site at 7:00 am and the initial march with include Munsee-Delaware and further along into the Oneida territory.

Indigenous Youth will then commence their relay running of a specified path into London and will pause as we all start to gather between 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Peace Park (Ivey Park) and the large collective group will then march to the N’Amerind Friendship Centre.

We would like to see a large contingent from the labour movement (OPSEU, OSSTF, ATU, CUPE, ETFO, UWOFA, SEIU, OECTA, LIUNA) and our community allies such as People for Peace, Council of Canadians, Injured Workers, Ontario Health Coalition and Regional Social Forum, to walk with us to the unveiling of the mural.  In the steps of Reconciliation, please turn your mind to joining us to honour the Residential School Survivors and the recoveries of the children.
