LEGISLATION FOR HEAT LIMITS IN THE WORKPLACE NOW!

June 26, 2024

The following is from the OFL:

The Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) has launched a campaign to combat heat stress in the workplace. We are calling on all workers to help us gather petitions to demand legislation for heat limits in the workplace.

You can download the petition here. The petition is available in both English and French.

Encourage your friends, family, and colleagues to get involved in the heat stress campaign. If they’re interested or would like to know more, please ask them to fill out this e-form.

Extreme heat that injures, sickens, and even kills workers is caused by work and climate conditions. The heat is on in Ontario, and our governments must put people before profit. We’re past the point of calling every worker killed by the climate crisis a “wake-up call.” We need action now.

That’s why we launched this campaign. We’re fighting for meaningful legislation that will better protect all Ontario workers from the dangers of heat stress in the workplace.

Thank you for your support.
