London Votes 2026: LDLC Announces City Council Candidate Endorsements

London, ON – On Saturday September 12, the London and District Labour Council (LDLC) released its list of endorsed candidates for London City Council in the upcoming October 26 municipal election.

Municipal government is where decisions are made that directly shape our daily lives. London City Council’s decisions impact housing affordability, whether transit improves, access to good union jobs, and whether real action is taken on the issues that matter to you. The LDLC developed a list of questions for candidates to identify their approach to the issues affecting working people.

“We are very pleased to announce the LDLC endorsements for this municipal election,” said Patti Dalton, LDLC President. “We had a rigorous democratic process overall, including strong debate and discussion at our General Membership meeting.  This municipal election takes place in a challenging context, with multiple crises and a global rise of the far right, which is apparent in Canada and playing out in local politics.  We think that this is an important time for unions and their members to not just vote, but to take time to engage with candidates and to be active in campaigns.”
