May 1 Day of Action

April 27, 2022

Dear friends,

On Sunday, May 1, join the province-wide day of action for a better Ontario.  London will join this day of action to mobilize people in the fight for a better future and to defeat the Ford Government on June 2.

May 1, or May Day, is the traditional workers’ holiday, a day when working people celebrate the gains they have won over the years and commit to fighting for a better future for everyone. In London on May 1, we are holding a Tolpuddle Award Event in the Peace Park at 1100am at which we will honour a long time labour activist and then we will have a rally in Victoria Park NW corner at 1230pm, with a number of inspiring speakers.  Following the rally, at 200pm we will proceed in a car caravan to Kitchener-Waterloo to a Carnival of Resistance which will include Juno Award winning performers and a range of family friendly events.

Please circulate this notice widely to your members, friends and the broader community and encourage them to attend.

It’s time for a $20 minimum wage, decent work, affordable housing, paid sick days, well-funded public services, livable income support for all, climate justice, status for all, and an end to racism and oppression.

See you on Sunday!

In solidarity,
Patti Dalton
