Save Ontario’s Colleges and Universities

February 26, 2025

The following is from CAUT (Canadian Association of University Teachers):

The Ontario election is this Thursday, February 27.

The province of Ontario is the largest post-secondary education jurisdiction in our country. It has the most colleges, the most universities, and the most academic staff.

But Ontario is the WORST in the country when it comes to provincial funding per student.

This funding shortage has consequences. Across the province, universities and colleges are seeing program cuts, layoffs and campus closures. It’s not good.

Our friends at OPSEU are doing some amazing work this election by calling attention to the cuts in post-secondary education. Please, please go check out their work at SAVE OUR COLLEGES.

And – if you live in Ontario, don’t forget to vote!
