URGENT: Stand with PSAC Local 501 Workers

June 25, 2026

The following is from Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) Ontario regarding the Blue Water Bridge:

Workers who dedicated years of service should not lose their jobs while their work is handed to a private contractor.

The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL) terminated PSAC Local 501 workers after years of dedicated service and contracted out the unionized work they had been performing.

At a time when families are already facing rising costs, secure employment has never been more important. Allowing employers to replace unionized workers with contractors threatens good jobs and sets a dangerous precedent for workers everywhere.

We are calling on our members, allies, and supporters to stand with these workers and demand that FBCL reverse its decision.

Tell FBCL to:

  • Reverse its decision to contract out this work.
  • Restore the jobs of the affected PSAC Local 501 workers.
  • Respect unionized work and the workers who have dedicated years of service.

Take action here.

Let’s send a message that workers and our communities will not accept jobs in our communities being contracted out.

In Solidarity,

PSAC Ontario
