ONA and OPSEU/SEFPO joining for Toronto protest March 2

February 25, 2023

Dear friends,

OPSEU/SEFPO will join Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) members and allies at a big protest on March 2. Come out on your lunch break, bring your co-workers, and join us!

ONA is negotiating a new contract with the Ontario Hospital Association. ONA’s fight is our fight. OPSEU/SEFPO represents thousands of health care workers province-wide. Health care workers need better staffing and wages to provide better care to all of us.

Hundreds of nurses, labour and community allies will be mobilizing March 2 at the Sheraton where bargaining is taking place.

OPSEU/SEFPO President JP Hornick invites you to join them at the protest. JP will be a speaker, bringing solidarity greetings on behalf of OPSEU/SEFPO’s 180,000 members.

Let’s send a strong message to the Ontario Hospital Association and Premier Ford that we’re ready to fight to protect public health care!

Phone bank on Tuesday, February 28
Help us get the word out about the protest, by joining our phone bank on Tuesday, Feb 28, 6 – 8:30 p.m.

You can do it from the comfort of your home, using a lap top or cell phone (making the calls from the computer is easier.) We’ll provide training and all the tools you need. We’ll do the training over Zoom at the start of the phone bank.

If you can make calls, please RSVP Megan Park mpark@opseu.org by no later than 10 a.m. on Feb. 28.

See you on Feb. 28 and March 2! It is time for the government to listen to health care workers and work with them to fix Ontario’s health care system so everyone can access quality care.
